Starting today, once a week, we will be doing a vendor spotlight – that is we will randomly choose a vendor at the night market and show you what they have to offer!
Our first spotlight is CyCone Sushi!
CyCone Sushi specializes in sushi, but with a twist! Instead of the usual fillings, Peking Duck and Roasted pork are used! Have a look at what they offer down below:
I have been hearing people raving about their Sushi Tower!
Drop by the night market and see their creations up close and in person!
The weather this weekend will be mainly cloudy with isolated showers, so don’t let today’s rain fool you! The night market will go on!
For those that didn’t get a chance to try Blue Smoke BBQ or Urban Wood Fire Pizza, have no fear! They are back this weekend at the night market! Not only that, but Taser Grilled Cheese Sandwiches will also be at the night market!
- Friday, June 8th: Taser Sandwich, Urban Wood Fire Pizza, Blue Smoke BBQ
- Saturday, June 9th: Urban Wood Fire Pizza, Blue Smoke BBQ
- Sunday, June 10th: Blue Smoke BBQ
The programming that we will have this weekend will be equally as awesome as the food. Ever seen a police lion? Ever seen a Chinese Lion dance to a hip-hop song?! If not, the night market is where you want to be.
- June 8th: The Vancouver Police Department and Chinese Community Policing Centre’s Lion Dance Team and Atomic Powerbomb
- June 9th: Mannix Golden Concert
- June 10th: Melody Voice of Spring
If you do swing by the night market this weekend, don’t forget to enter into our nightly and monthly draws! Our monthly draw prize is valued at $500!
We will see YOU this weekend!
It was another lovely weekend this past weekend, especially for our opening ceremony marking the 17th annual Chinatown Night Market! Our opening ceremonies featured speeches by foreign dignitaries, representatives from all three levels of government and committee members from the Vancouver Chinatown Merchants Association. This was followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony, roast pig cutting and Lion Dancing!

And we can’t forget the wood fired pizzas and pakora food trucks that were right at Keefer and Main now could we? Not only that, but nestled between some of our permanent food stands was where you could get some huge pulled pork sandwiches! Go check out their websites to see where they may be when they are not at the night market!
This past weekend, we have had several new stands, such as Henna Tattoo and Pyschic Readings. Many of our stands have also re-stocked their merchandise over the weekend, so you should definitely come down and check it out!

Starting June 1st, 2012, you can have the chance to win some awesome prizes while hanging out at the Chinatown Night Market! Throughout the length of the night market, we will be having two types of draws, Nightly and Monthly.
To have a chance to win our nightly draw, all you have to do is come to the night market and fill out a raffle ticket. The raffle tickets will be located in the booth beside Kathy Fournier (look for the fortune telling booth). Draws will be held on the main stage at 8:30 pm and you must be there at the time that your name is drawn to be able to claim your prize.
To have a chance to win our monthly draw, participants must fill out a ballot and collect three stamps over the course of a month. Therefore, to be eligible, you must visit the night market a minimum of three times in the course of month. Stamps can be collected at the booth beside Kathy Fournier. Draws will be held during the first Saturday of each month starting July 7th, 2012 ending September 1st, 2012. All draws will also be held at 8:30 pm and if the winner is not present at the time of the draw, another ballot will be drawn.
Please see here for the full list of rules and regulations: Rules and Regulations for Draws
Also, we would like to thank the Vancouver Chinatown merchants for generously donating gifts.
So come on out and enter into our nightly and monthly draws!
